Christina Mills
Christina Hovious-Mills is the Systems Change Network Statewide
Community Organizer of California Foundation of Independent Living Centers
(CFILC). Living with a disability since birth (Osteogenisis Imperfecta), she is
nationally known for her advocacy work with youth with disabilities. She served
as the chair of the National Council on Disability Youth Advisory Committee, is an
alumnus of the California Youth Leadership Forum which she continues to
support as staff, and is the past chair of the State Independent Living Council.
Ms. Hovious-Mills worked for the Access Center of San Diego, Inc. as a Benefits
Advocate, Peer Support Group Leader (an adult and senior cross disability group
and a separate youth advocacy group) Systems Change Advocate and Program
Manager. She also worked as the Field Coordinator to the Dayle McIntosh
Independent Living Center in 2000. Christina has developed materials on youth
transition and held several national trainings on youth leadership and disability
pride/awareness.
