Technical Help

If you are experiencing problems with the SILC website, please try the following helpful-hints before contacting the SILC Webmaster:

  • Older Version of Browser

You should be using either Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE), version 4.0 or higher with Service Pack 1 (IE 5.0 preferred) or Netscape, version 4.0 or higher. If you are using an older version of either of these browsers, you will need to upgrade it.
  • Web Traffic

The Web servers may periodically experience heavy traffic. Please be patient and allow pages to completely download before attempting to click any of the links.
  • Your Internet Service Provider (ISP)

Your ISP may be experiencing a problem. Try to see if you encounter the same problem with another site (see Web Traffic above).
  • Your Modem

Your modem may be too slow to download our web pages, causing pages to timeout before they have completely loaded. You might consider upgrading your modem, since it likely causing additional problems accessing the web in general.
  • Memory

Although our web pages do not tend to be large in size, some web pages include graphical elements. If you experience difficulty viewing certain web pages, then it is possible that your computer does not have enough memory. You might then consider adding additional memory.

If you still need assistance, please contact the SILC Webmaster.
